Platinum Retail Group ("we", "our", or "the Company") is committed to preventing modern slavery and human trafficking in all its forms. We have a zero-tolerance approach to modern slavery and are committed to acting ethically and with integrity in all our business dealings and relationships.
This policy is made pursuant to Section 54 of the Modern Slavery Act 2015 and sets out the steps that the Company has taken and is continuing to take to ensure that modern slavery and human trafficking are not taking place within our business or supply chain.
2. Scope
This policy applies to all persons working for or on behalf of the Company in any capacity, including employees, directors, officers, agency workers, contractors, consultants, and business partners. It also extends to our supply chain and any third parties with whom we conduct business.
3. About Modern Slavery
Modern slavery is a crime and encompasses:
- Human trafficking — arranging or facilitating the travel of another person with a view to exploitation
- Forced labour — work or services obtained through coercion, threats, or deception
- Debt bondage — requiring a person to work to pay off a debt
- Descent-based slavery — where people are born into slavery
- Child slavery — exploitation of children for someone else's gain
- Domestic servitude — forced work within a private household
4. Our Supply Chain
Our supply chain includes suppliers of goods and services across our forecourt retail operations, including food and beverage suppliers, cleaning services, maintenance providers, and logistics companies. We are committed to ensuring transparency throughout our supply chain.
- We assess all new suppliers against our modern slavery criteria before onboarding
- We include modern slavery clauses in all supplier contracts
- We require suppliers to confirm their compliance with the Modern Slavery Act
- We reserve the right to audit suppliers to verify compliance
5. Due Diligence
We carry out due diligence when considering taking on new suppliers and regularly review our existing suppliers. Our due diligence processes include:
- Evaluating the modern slavery risks of each new supplier
- Requiring suppliers to provide evidence of their own anti-slavery policies
- Conducting periodic risk assessments of our supply chain
- Building long-term relationships with suppliers to increase transparency
- Encouraging suppliers to take responsibility for their own supply chains
6. Risk Assessment
We regularly assess the risk of modern slavery occurring within our business and supply chain. Key risk factors include geographic location of suppliers, industry sector, types of labour used, and the vulnerability of workers. We focus our efforts on the areas of highest risk.
7. Training & Awareness
We provide training to our staff to ensure a high level of understanding of the risks of modern slavery and human trafficking in our business and supply chain.
- All employees receive awareness training on modern slavery during induction
- Key personnel in procurement and supply chain roles receive enhanced training
- Training is reviewed and updated regularly to reflect current best practices
- Staff are trained to recognise the signs of modern slavery and how to report concerns
8. Reporting Concerns
We encourage all employees, suppliers, and other stakeholders to report any concerns or suspicions of modern slavery. Reports can be made through the following channels:

- Directly to a line manager or senior manager

- To the Modern Slavery Helpline: 08000 121 700
All reports will be investigated promptly and confidentially. No individual will suffer any detriment for raising a genuine concern in good faith.
9. Breaches of This Policy
Any employee who breaches this policy will face disciplinary action, which could result in dismissal for misconduct or gross misconduct. We may terminate our relationship with any supplier or other business partner found to be involved in modern slavery.
10. Review
This policy, and our modern slavery statement, will be reviewed annually by the Board of Directors. We will continue to take steps to identify and mitigate the risk of modern slavery in our operations and supply chain.
